Who doesn't like an easy meal with a 5 minute prep time. Serves 6, 557 calories per serving.
Ingredients:
2 lbs bonelss, skinless chicken breasts - cut into 6 pieces
24 oz jar of marinara sauce
14 oz can of Italian style diced tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
1.5 cups grated parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp butt
1.5 cups panko bread crumbs
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
pasta (optional)
Directions:
1. Place chicken in bottom of slow cooker.
2. Stir together marinara, tomatoes, garlic and Italian seasoning; pour over chicken.
3. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours or until chicken is tender.
4. Sprinkle Parmesan over top of chicken; cover and cook on high an additional 30 minutes to melt cheese.
5. In a medium skillet, melt butter; add bread crumbs and garlic salt. Cook 4 minutes or until golden brown; stirring often.
6. Before serving, sprinkle bread crumb mixture and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese over chicken. Serve with pasta, if desired.
